After writing about our three basic arrangements, I found a great post of TEN different student interpretations under the instruction of Stephen Coler. His blog is Hanamai. It is encouraging to see student work "in the bud" just as it is inspiring to see a master arrangement in full bloom.

    for me, one of the most interesting things about ikebana is the was that the same material can be used in so many different ways. trying to show the beauty of each branch or flower creates a different work for each person. every branch or flower has a beautiful side, and to show that off in an interesing way is always my goal.
